The Sprott Accounting Students’ Association (SASA) was formed in the summer of 1988 under the name Carleton Accounting Club. Upon the generous endowment offered to the School of business by Eric Sprott in 2001, the club became known as SASA and it has held this name ever since. We represent accounting students from the Carleton University Sprott School of Business and, as such, are responsible for developing the skills and professional networks required for employment upon graduation. We are also the largest student run association under the Sprott Business Student Society umbrella and hold more annual events than any other club with the goal of offering our members the greatest exposure to potential employers.
Our mission is to help develop the professional, social and academic skills of accounting students as well as to develop lasting relationships with the Ottawa accounting community. We strive to continually promote and build on both the SASA and Sprott brands by accepting the finest students to into our membership. Each year SASA hosts numerous network events including our widely popular Golf Tournament and Wine and Cheese formal. We also strive to serve and engage accounting students by holding a series of workshops and information sessions throughout the year to ensure they are prepared for the rigors of the recruitment season and post graduation employment. While our primary goal has always been to serve our membership, we are also taking a client centered approach to the valued sponsors that make our association the success it is today. We strive to build long lasting relationships with our sponsors and our community in order to grow our partnerships with them now and in the future.
SASA has in the past helped countless of young student find gainful employment in the accounting field and, with the continued support of our sponsors and our members, we will continue this tradition. We will continue to increase awareness of the quality associated with a Sprott education and make the SASA name synonymous with success.
